StartUp Skidmore

The Feb. 17-19 workshop and competition — open to all Skidmore students from all majors — will enable participants to fine-tune their business pitches and develop a prototype for their own creative products and ideas.

COVID-19 Reminders

As emphasized in an email on Wednesday, Jan. 25, masking indoors is not currently required on campus but remains strongly recommended at crowded events, while traveling, or in other places where transmission may be more likely. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or if you are symptomatic, do not attend group gatherings or events. Please mask up and test if symptoms develop. Free KN95 masks are available at the Case Information Desk.

 

Students may continue to pick up free rapid tests at Case Information Desk or at Campus Safety. Students who test positive must notify covidsupport@skidmore.edu.

 

Employees are reminded that additional free rapid tests are available through , and that covers the costs of rapid tests. Employees in immediate need or concerned about exposure at work may pick up a test at Campus Safety or the Case Information Desk. Employees who test positive for COVID-19 should alert their supervisors and Human Resources. 

 

If you have not received your COVID booster or your flu shot, please consider doing so as soon as you are eligible. COVID-19 updates continue to be posted to Skidmore’s and Skidmore’s .

Chocolate-covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day

Email John Winnek to order milk chocolate-covered, long-stem strawberries for Valentine’s Day ($10/half dozen). Orders are due by Thursday, Feb. 9, and can be picked up in The Spa from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) presents ‘Reclaim Your Brain’

Presented by an EAP counselor, the “Reclaim Your Brain” session from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 2, on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall is designed for individuals to focus on their brain health. .

Announcements

Winter Celebration 2023

Join Skidmore friends and colleagues from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, for an evening of dining and dancing at Saratoga Springs City Center. There is no charge for Skidmore employees and retirees. The guest fee is $20. .

 

Zankel Music Center spring 2023 programming

From adventurous soul-jazz to indie-rock, to time-honored classical and its contemporary interpretations, Zankel Music Center is set to deliver a series of exciting musical experiences this spring. Winter intramurals

ODC/Dance open lecture demonstration

An open lecture demonstration with San Francisco-based company ODC/Dance will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, in the Skidmore Dance Theater. New electric vehicle stations coming soon

SEFCU hours

The SEFCU campus branch is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The branch is closed daily from 1:15 to 2 p.m. for lunch. The ATM is available for withdrawals during lunchtime.

Athletics News

The Skidmore College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams host the Skidmore Sprint Invitational at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. The Thoroughbreds will compete with Bard, Western New England, Vassar, and Mount Holyoke. It will be the final home meet and final regular-season meet for Skidmore. The Thoroughbreds head to the Liberty League Championships Feb. 15-18 at Ithaca College. Learn more on the .
