The Susan Kettering Williamson '59 Chair in Neuroscience
Current Holder: Bernie Possidente
Previous Holder: Sarita Lagalwar; Denise Evert
Established in 2011, the Susan Kettering Williamson '59 Chair in Neuroscience is endowed to recognize excellence among the Skidmore faculty in the area of neuroscience. The first Williamson Professor will be hired in the 2011-2012 academic year to start teaching in September, 2012. Nominations for the Williamson Professor will be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will consult with the Promotions Committee in making a recommendation for appointment. The recipient may be drawn from the current faculty or recruited from outside the College. Appointment to the Williamson Chair, while renewable, is intended to support the work of a number of faculty and will, therefore, be limited typically to terms of five years.
