Gordon Thompson, professor and chair, Department of Music, has undertaken a mini-lecture tour about the Beatles' 1964 New York debut for Albany’s the Egg Performing Arts Center. He presented “She Loves You:  The Beatles and New York” at the Guilderland Public Library, Feb. 6; the Albany Institute of History and Art, Feb. 7; the Schenectady Public Library, Feb. 8; the Halfmoon Public Library, Feb. 9; and the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, Feb. 10. Up ahead: Saratoga Springs Public Library, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11; Crandall Library in Glens Falls, 7 p.m. Feb. 12; and the Bethelehem Public Library, 7 p.m. Feb. 13. All talks are free and open to the public.

Jeff Segrave, professor of health and exercise science, is the author of an opinion essay titled published Feb. 7 in the Times Union (Albany), and was a source for published Feb. 6 at csmonitor.com.

Gordon Thompson, professor and chair, Department of Music, wrote an opinion essay titled which was published Feb. 9 in The Saratogian. A version of the essay also was published Feb. 7 on his , hosted by Oxford University Press.
