Marc Woodworth, lecturer, Department of English, and author whose works include poetry and writing about rock music, was the featured speaker at the Jan. 21 Town and Gown Night hosted by the Saratoga Film Forum. His topic:  Richard Linklater’s film “Dazed and Confused,” a warmhearted look at the 70s on the last day of high school before the Bicentennial. The film forum’s Town and Gown series introduces moviegoers to film-savvy scholars from colleges in the region whose work has been deeply influenced by the movies.

Publication

Stephen Ives, assistant professor, Department of Health and Exercise Science, is a co-writer of “Heart failure and movement-induced hemodynamics: Partitioning the impact of central and peripheral dysfunction” published in the International Journal of Cardiology, Vol. 178, 2015.

In the News

Yelena Biberman, visiting assistant professor of government, is the author of an essay titled published on the Washington Post.com web site. The piece is based on her observations during a recent trip to Pakistan.

Ian Reed, visiting assistant professor of psychology, did an “Academic Minute” titled “meaningful Expressions” in which he analyzed the implications of facial expression. The piece aired Jan. 19.
