Skidmore Spotlight: Amelia Clarke
Amelia Clarke, the academic coordinator for Classics and Economics, is celebrating
two decades at Skidmore.
Clarke has worked with six departmental chairs and numerous faculty members in her departments. Clarke began part-time at the College in 1997 and transitioned to full-time the following year during which she helped launch the inaugural Honors Forum program.
“What I love most about working at Skidmore is the students," Clarke said. "I have been the campus mom for many international students. Being international myself, I can relate to them, particularly those from Africa and the Caribbean. All are welcome in my office.â€
Clarke said Thoroughbred basketball is among her favorite Skidmore traditions. She
also enjoys attending the Ujima Fashion Show and African Awareness Gala.
When not at Skidmore, Clarke and her husband are actively involved in Saratoga Springs
community events, including MLK Saratoga and many fundraising efforts.
