Skidmore Spotlight: Lori Acee
Lori Acee works as an assistant to the director of the Scribner Library, Marta Brunner. Acee began her career at Skidmore as a bibliographic services assistant and has worked here for nearly 11 years.
In her current role, she says no two days are alike: “I like to call it juggling plates on sticks. I can go from budgeting and human resources to student hiring, scheduling and building maintenance all in one day.”
“I love the work of the Library and our place in the heart of all things learning at Skidmore,” said Acee. “I have also been blessed to have worked with tremendous directors in the library, who have helped me grow professionally and personally in so many ways.”
On what drew her to Skidmore, Acee said, “I always loved the idea of working at a college. Plus, I really believe getting an education here changes students’ lives in so many meaningful and powerful ways.”
Acee said her favorite Skidmore tradition is participation in Skidmore Cares and the annual faculty and staff holiday open house at President Philip and Marie Glotzbach’s residence. “It’s such a lovely way to kick off the holidays while doing something good for others,” she said.
