Skidmore Spotlight: Rebecca Rumpf
Office Coordinator Rebecca Rumpf supports Health Services’ efforts to prevent any spread of COVID-19 on campus by helping with scheduling, fielding telephone calls and emails, organizing transportation of students to and from medical appointments, ordering supplies and completing many other important administrative tasks.
Rumpf first joined Skidmore in 2010 and has held positions in Scribner Library and the Office of the Registrar. In January, she assumed her current role in Health Services.
“Being a part of such an amazing team that plays a central role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 has brought new responsibilities for me,” said Rumpf. “I now coordinate the ordering of cleaning supplies and PPE for the staff in the COVID-testing center and any other supplies they may need. I assist students with navigating the CoVerified app and clarifying their testing dates if they have questions. I’m also responsible for scheduling COVID-testing appointments for any students coming out of quarantine and answer any questions they might have about the process.”
Director of Health Services Patty Bosen described Rumpf’s transition to her new position as “seamless.”
"The office coordinator is the eyes and ears of Health Services,” Bosen said. “The work that Rebecca does in handling the front desk, including answering phone calls and emails, greeting students and dealing with all sorts of paperwork and faxes with frequent interruptions, is invaluable.”
Rumpf said she values Skidmore’s strong sense of community and the opportunity to interact with staff and employees. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and rescued bulldog, reading, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
“We are so fortunate to have this beautiful campus and trails to walk on when the weather is nice,” she said.
