Skidmore Spotlight: Eddie Johnson
Eddie Johnson, a short order cook in the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall, helps the Dining Services team provide healthy and delicious meals to students every day.
Johnson, who started at Skidmore in 2016, staffs the busy Diner station, which offers specialty grilled items and fries as well as a variety of healthy options, such as grilled chicken breast, brown rice and steamed broccoli.
Johnson is part of an award-winning Dining Services team that has repeatedly pivoted during this pandemic to find new ways to serve students safely as it has responded to changing health and safety conditions.
Director of Dining Services Mark Miller called Johnson āa true team player.ā
āEddie comes to work every day with a positive attitude and helps to put everybody else in a good mood,ā Miller said. āHis constantly positive approach to work has been a great contribution to our team, especially during this pandemic.ā
Johnson expressed appreciation for the Collegeās efforts to keep everyone safe during the pandemic and the spirit of respect that he said pervades the entire Skidmore community.
āThe work environment is great. I enjoy working with all my colleagues, who make my job easy to do. My co-workers really deserve a shoutout. Weāre all one mind and spirit as we work together every day to make sure that students can always enjoy a great meal.ā
When he is not campus, Johnson enjoys spending time with his family.
