Skidmore Spotlight: Nicole Todd
Nicole Todd, staff assistant/database and website coordinator in the Career Development Center, manages the Handshake and Career Advisor Network databases while assisting students and alumni with access to career resources.
She manages the office's website and budget, including the Summer Experience Fund. She also enjoys helping plan and implement events like Career Jam and Skidmore Recruitment Week.
“My favorite part of my role is working with and managing our student workers — our career development ambassadors,” she said.
Todd, who started in 2019, said her second year working at Skidmore was quite different from her first.
“During the pandemic, my role as website coordinator has evolved to take up a larger percentage of my time as we shifted all programs to virtual platforms. We added the Senior Success Series in January 2021 to focus on uniquely helping our seniors graduating during the pandemic,” she said. “I’ve also been able to use my skills to assist other areas of our Student Affairs Division with Skidmore Speaks and Student Forums.”
Todd said she especially values the supportive community at Skidmore.
"Through this challenging time, it has been encouraging to see departments and individuals across campus work together to care for and support one another in work, study, health and emotional well-being,” she said.
When she is not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog on canoeing and camping trips. For the next two years, she will be dedicating much of her free time to working on an MBA at the College of Saint Rose.
