Taj Abu works as a Campus Safety officer, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of the entire campus community.  

Abu started in the position in May, having worked in the healthcare industry for more than a decade.  

鈥淲hat most excites me about working here would have to be the opportunity I have had to meet new people from all walks of life and the chance to learn what makes each one of us different, yet similar,鈥� he said.  

Abu said he appreciates the College鈥檚 emphasis on creative thought.  

鈥淗ere at Skidmore, individuality is nurtured without sacrificing the community aspect. I have learned to be more accepting of others without judgment,鈥� he said.  

When not working at Skidmore, Abu enjoys spending time with family and relaxing and watching a good movie. He also enjoys drone photography and 3D printing and has taken up a new hobby 鈥� woodworking 鈥� since the onset of the pandemic.
