Skidmore Spotlight: Amy Ballesteros
Amy Ballesteros, web developer and programmer in the Office of Communications and Marketing, provides technological leadership and web guidance for the College, helps maintain Skidmore’s strong web presence; oversees the College website, online products, and services; and develops solutions for campus partners in support of students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
Ballesteros, who joined Skidmore in September, said she appreciates “the work, the people, and the culture” at Skidmore.
“I feel a sense of belonging, value, and inclusion. Being at Skidmore is, by far, the perfect job as a web developer. I enjoy working in the Office of Communications and Marketing — sharing ideas, while doing what I love, and collaborating with people who are as passionate about delivering engaging, quality content and positive web experiences as I am,” she said. “I also enjoy walking through campus and seeing the diversity of the student body. I have really appreciated the warm welcome from staff and faculty.”
Ballesteros added that she is excited about supporting Inauguration, her first major event at the College, and also looks forward to Commencement in May.
When she is not on campus, Ballesteros enjoys spending time with family, making things — doing arts and crafts, baking, and cooking — and taking daytrips to explore new cities and towns. She also enjoys photography, creating digital art, writing, and fashion.
“The pandemic has brought on a newfound appreciation of time, whether it’s spending a lovely day at the park playing soccer, taking a hike, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing. This time has allowed me to enjoy every bit of life with my family.”
