Faculty-Staff Achievements
Joseph P. Cermatori, assistant professor of English, has received a 2022 research fellowship for the Yale University Beinecke Rare Book
and Manuscript Library in New Haven, Connecticut. The fellowship will grant Cermatori
the opportunity to spend this summer studying the library's archival holdings related
to the American novelist and playwright Thornton Wilder. Cermatori is compiling a
newly edited anthology of Wilder's collected nonfiction writings for publication in
2023.
Eliza F. Kent, professor of religious studies, participated in a panel at the South Asian Studies Association meeting at Loyola Marymount University on March 12 on “Auroville: The City the Earth Needs, Cult or Utopia?,” a series of reflections on Akash Kapur’s new book, “Better to Have Gone: Love, Death and the Quest for Utopia in Auroville” (Scribner books, 2021).
Timothy L. Harper, associate professor of management and business, gave a presentation on March 22 on “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: An Opportunity
for Business to Lead" as part of Ethics Week at Marist College School of Management.
Ron Seyb, associate professor of political science, was interviewed by about the possibility that former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo could challenge current
Gov. Kathy Hochul in the upcoming primary.
Sonia Silva, associate professor of anthropology, published her essay “Touch and Other Senses: Feeling the Truth in Basket Divination"
in the edited volume “.”
