Kathryn Baustian, assistant professor of anthropology, co-published "" in the International Journal of Historical Archaeology.
Hajar Hussaini, visiting assistant professor of English, was awarded the for her translation of Maral Taheri's verse. Hussaini and Taheri will be awarded $10,000 and $5,000 respectively and the selection of Taheriās work will be published by Deep Vellum in 2026.
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, published a research article in the journal Nutrients, "," in collaboration with dietitians at Optum Home Infusion Services.
Greg Malen, assistant professor of mathematics, and Lucy Oremland, associate professor of mathematics, were awarded an NSF grant to fund the for the next three years. The annual conference, which highlights student research and achievements, will be hosted at Skidmore in the spring of 2027.
Bernard Possidente, professor of biology, presented a poster "Circadian Period is Correlated with Entrained Activity Rhythm Phase in Fruit Fly Females but not Males," co-authored by Maggie Arms '23 and Kaitlin Koto '22, at the 2024 Society for Research on Biological Rhythms Meeting in San Juan Puerto-Rico.
Pushkala Prasad, professor and Zankel Chair in Management, delivered the invited keynote address at the 18th Organization Studies Conference on Organization, āOrganizing and Politics,ā at Mykonos, Greece, in May. Her talk was titled "Global Inequality, Divided Labor and the Politics of Racial Capitalism."
Catherine White Berheide, Tisch Family Distinguished Professor and professor of sociology, published a co-authored article, "," with David A. Cotter, professor of sociology at Union College, and Megan A. Carpenter, associate professor of psychology at St. Lawrence University, in Research in Higher Education.
Jason Winters, campus safety officer, was recently honored by the Northeast Colleges and Universities Security Association with the Robert Bunker Award for Outstanding Service at the associationās annual conference in Baltimore. Winters received the Bunker Award for his outstanding performance while assisting a person on campus who was having a mental health crisis. āWe are fortunate to have such dedicated and capable members of the Campus Safety team like Jason Winters on campus," said Director of Campus Safety Timothy Munro.
