Disposing of college-owned assets

The director of Purchasing Services is responsible for disposing of assets no longer of use to the college. Assets include items such as office furniture, computers, tools, equipment and vehicles. If you are unsure whether or not the item is an asset or not, please call the Purchasing Department.

Please complete the Asset Disposal Request Form (PDF) and send it to Purchasing to start the process.

How is an Asset disposed of?

  • First, the Purchasing team determines if there is a use for the item anywhere on campus.
  • Second, we try to find a buyer for the item.
  • Third, if the item appears to possibly be of use to someone, we contact the community and let them know that the item is available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Fourth, we will trash the item.
