Charlie Blodgett, who retired from Skidmore’s post office in 1992, died on Thursday,
April 16, 2020. He was 88.
Charlie joined Skidmore in 1965 as a mail clerk and was promoted to lead mail clerk
in 1978.
Colleagues recalled his easygoing personality, his sense of humor and the stories
he loved to tell.
“He was a wonderful guy — just a good soul. He loved working at Skidmore and looked
forward to attending the annual Employee Retirement and Recognition Celebration every year,” said Post Office Clerk Tom Bayer.
Born June 11, 1931, Charlie served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, and three brothers, Paul, Donald and David. Survivors included his sister, Marjorie Burbine, sisters-in-law Joan and Dolores, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was buried at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
