Curator Rickie Solinger will deliver a related lecture, Nine Ways of Looking at a Poor Woman, on Thursday, March 27th at 6:30pm in Gannett Auditorium at Skidmore College. The lecture is a discussion of how we define poor women in the United States and a consideration of how these definitions shape what we think welfare policy should look like. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Women's Studies Department, the Intercultural Center of Skidmore College and the Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action. Immediately following the lecture, a reception will be held in the Schick Art Gallery from 7:30-9pm.
