Frequently Asked Questions

This page is intended to assist students preparing to attend or participate in Skidmore Recruitment Week. This event will be held weeklong beginning Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26. Interview sessions will take place virtually on Zoom from 10a.m. to 4p.m. EDT.

Preparing for the event:

Skidmore Recruitment Week will be held weeklong beginning Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26. Interview sessions will take place virtually on Zoom from 10a.m. to 4p.m. EDT.

This event is for seniors ONLY. It is NOT a career fair, but rather a pre-select INTERVIEWING event. This means students can NOT show up and expect to talk or network with companies. Instead it means that an employer representative from the companies attending will be selecting Skidmore students in advance and inviting them to participate in an interview.   Interviewing schedules will be pre-arranged.  Students will be notified by March 7, if they've been selected to interview.

A Handshake was set up to keep students informed concerning employers attending, communication and updates regarding the event.  The event page is intended for informational purposes ONLY.

The application window for the 2021 Skidmore Recruitment Week event opens on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 8a.m. EDT. Deadline to apply to positions is Monday, February 22 by 11:55p.m. EDT  No late applications will be accepted.

Note: Employer registration opened December 1, 2020. Employers are not required to post positions until February 8, 2021. Check the employer directory for a current list of attending employers and job opportunities.

No! The event page in Handshake was set up as a communication tool for event information. In order to attend the event, students will still need to apply to positions directly. Students are able to apply to as many positions as they'd like. ONLY students pre-selected for interviews will attend Skidmore Recruitment Week.

Last years event was in-person and over 25 employers from varying industries attended. We anticipate having a similar number of employers spread out to interview over the course of the week. Many employers will be recruiting for multiples openings.

For a quick and easy way to see all participating companies and jobs they are promoting, check out our Employer List & Job Directory.

The day of the event students will login into the zoom meeting link provided to pre-selected candidates in mid-March. Candidates should plan to login in 15 early. The employer will start the meeting promptly at your scheduled interview time. Interviews are expected to last between 20-30 mins.

You can apply to as many jobs as you wish associated with Skidmore Recruitment Week. Students will have an opportunity to accept or decline any interview invitations from companies.

Yes, all positions will be posted in by February 15, 2021 8a.m. EDT. Students must apply to each position they are interested in. Some employers are also requiring students to apply externally. If you have questions please reach out to a member of the Career Development Center.
