Space Planning Working Group

The Space Planning Working Group (SPWG) serves as an important resource for space and facilities planning on campus. The SPWG will review all campus space requests, guided by the principles underlying the current Strategic Plan, including the College’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability.

The SPWG conducts its work with the understanding that all campus buildings and spaces belong to the College.

Space Requests

A space request form should be completed to request a new space or a space not currently allocated to a unit, to change a physical space within a unit, or to request an office for a faculty/staff member.

Before submitting a request, ensure that it has been discussed with the respective vice president (or designee) and approved to be submitted for consideration. All space requests must be submitted via the online space request form. The SPWG will review each request and provide recommendations to the President’s Cabinet, if appropriate.

Final decisions on each request will be communicated back to the requestor by the SPWG co-chairs.

Requests for additional support can be made directly to respective departments (ex: Facilities and Informational Technology for assistance with floor plans and technology). All support requests should be made in advance (at least three weeks) and will be supported as departmental availability allows.
