- Juan-Carlos Lertora, who joined Skidmore as a professor of Spanish in 1980, died March 2, 2006, from heart damage caused by a virus. He was 60.
- Sayra Benson Nikoloff Lester, associate professor emerita of education, died in Glenville, N.Y., on December 31, 1999.
- Nancy Wiedenman Lester ’58, former director of administrative services for development and alumni affairs, died December 24, 2017.
- Erwin Levine, professor emeritus of government, died January 12, 2002. He was 75.
- Robert Burton Levo, a longtime campus facilities worker, died May 23, 2011, in Saratoga Springs. He was 74.
- Victor Liguori, professor emeritus of art, died January 21, 2018, at age 86.
- Ernest R. "Ernie" Lloyd III, a longtime member of the housekeeping staff, died May 19, 2010, at Albany Medical Center. He was 85.
- David E. Long, the architect of Skidmore's modern fundraising program and longtime vice president at the College, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Saratoga Hospital.
- George Lowis, professor emeritus of sociology, died Friday, October 12, 2018. He was 88.
- Mary Constance Lynn, a beloved professor of American studies emerita who documented Skidmore College’s history in a cherished monograph, died Feb. 23, 2021. She was 77.
- David Mabb, who worked in grounds and dining services, died December 6, 2012. He was 55.
- Richard Mabb, a longtime member of the facilities staff, died February 27, 2010, at Saratoga Hospital.
- Alton A. Markley, a forty-year professor of chemistry, died March 24, 1983.
- Mary Ellen May, who retired from Dining Services in 2010, died April 16, 2022, in Normal, Illinois. She was 79.
- Dora McCormick, a secretary and receptionist for the Counseling Center and Health Services, died on March 8, 2023, at the Wesley Health Care Center. She was 73.
- Carole McDermott, a longtime office manager in the Office of Communications, died August 22, 2014, in Saratoga Springs. She was 80.
- Robert Alan McGill, associate professor emeritus of English and a scholar of Native American literature, died June 14, 2009, in Gainesville, Florida. He was 84.
- Mary Elizabeth McMartin, a longtime member of the Student Affairs staff and the mother of a Skidmore graduate, died September 26, 2009, at Saratoga Hospital, following a short illness.
- Robert Meisner, a well-respected cook in Dining Services, died as a result of a tragic accident on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was 65.
